Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Welcome! :welcome glad you joined us! I am in York. There are some on here that are getting eggs from their girls.. Alas, mine are giving me nothing right now. (They don't like the weather either)
But welcome!

Frigerbator? Did you convert an old refrigerator into an incubator? And if so how? I just got a new refrigerator and still have the old one.... What do you mean hatcher? Your eggs don't hatch in your incubator? Sorry, this is a new theory if you are saying what I think you are... Might have to re think some things... Thanks

I used an old mini freezer, actually. Built same way as converting a cooler, two light bulbs, a fan, a thermostat, some ventilation holes.
At lock down, I move the eggs to a cooler Bator since I often have multiple batches in the primary incubator a few days apart. This allows me to increase humidity for lockdown without raising it in the main incubator. I can also adjust temperature for lockdown, or any other variable.
Mini freezer holds 120 or so chicken eggs in turners in its current configuration. Two coolers hold about maybe a couple or three dozen each, although I rarely have more than a dozen hatching in them at once.

Any way you can show pics of your freezer bator? I need to figure out how to wire everything up.. That is if you have any pics. I don't want you to have to open yours if you have eggs in it..

Quote: I also use two different one's.........I never hatch in one that has a fan,,, I prefer still air for hatching.......actually my hatcher is an old styrofoam incubator from TSC (the cheap $30 one )

I kept the incubator going for 8 months straight and never had to clean it since it never had anybody hatch in it,,,,Ok. the quail did once hatch in there only cause I forgot about them..

I have one of those little small dorm size fridges that doesn't work anymore,,,,wonder if that would make a good incubator
