[/quote ] I could pick up in Lebanon, Lancaster, Harrisburg as local, but will also accept postal shipping anywhere in the state of Pennsylvania.

I will try to get some individual pics over the next couple of days,,,,I will try to use a soda can for size reference.....serama are not the easiest to catch though, they fit in small spots that I do not...

but I have in the past stuck all 4 in a small cat carrier and they had plenty of room.

as far as being hardy, they live outside in my layer pen with everyone else....

The roo would not be showable due to frostbite, he has lost most of his points...he refuses to sleep inside, he will roost on top of the coop.

only here can I post pics of bugs and have people appreciate them a nice day to stay in and go thru the worms
I just found my 5th pupa right next to the celery in there. 5 known pupa in my first week, I'd say that's pretty good. There are probably more but I just can't find them in all the oats ya know. I moved a few really white worms to the pupa tank too. Put some worms in the freezer for the hermit crabs.

How do you get these "worms" started?

It's so simple! Just get a container, fill it about 1-3 inches with rolled oats, get about 1000 mealworms (its just a good starting number), throw em in, and give them a vegetable or fruit (that doesn't easily mold) and you're good. Seperate the different stages about once a week so that they don't eat eachother and in a few months you'll start to get babies.

I have had them going for a few years now,,,,,,if I remember correctly, I got a container of 100 at petsmart.....I grow them in a dark container in my tv stand, they seem to prefer it dark, and the heat of the tv always on keeps them toasty.....I use plain old fashioned oatmeal....the tall round container, make sure it is not quick oats.......then about once a week I throw a few carrots in..(I always have packs of those baby carrots, we like to snack on them dipped in peanut butter)...some people use potato or apple or other fruits, but you have to be careful the fruit does not cause mold.

Thinking if I get them & hatch some very soon she would have them ready to show by fair.
