I cant seem to find the numbers game on here! What is the sqaure foot per chick you should have? I have a 4.5 by 4.5 coop....I have 8 chickies now do I have room for more? Their run is 22 by 5 and they get to free range too! I have chick fever also!

Suggested sizes... 2-4 sq ft per adult LF bird inside
10 sq ft per adult LF outside

I believe they figure half that for bantams


forgot to add.... 1 ft per bird of roost space

Yes!!!! Spring Fever

looking at the upcoming weather,,, I think I will clean out my buckets and get a fresh ferment going, gonna do one like normal and try another with just grain,,,,I have whole corn, wheat, barley on hand......and suggestion what I can go get to add to that, cheaply please, I have a couple options on farm stores...I still have about a dozen sunflower plants hanging in the barn, but do not feel like shelling them...

my youngest granddaughter will also be here this weekend (2 year old) may be a good time to run to TSC and pick up those production birds, she would enjoy that...

am I the only one getting all excited just because of a weather forecast of nice days??

I can't wait until it gets warm enough that I can do a Spring Cleaning of my coops. I just got a 10% off everything coupon from TSC and am going to go buy a bunch of bales of wood shavings! Is it strange to be happy about that?

I have a new toy....did some testing and am heating up for a test run...I am using the upper limit of 100.4 and a lower limit of 99.5 . Also, I have two bins of water, is that too much? I have a really cheap hydrometer....I am using 25W bulbs.....(may need to add a second fan...I dunno?)

If any body sees something wrong....please give me a shout!!! otherwise "Tallyho!!!"

I have a new toy....did some testing and am heating up for a test run...I am using the upper limit of 100.4 and a lower limit of 99.5 . Also, I have two bins of water, is that too much? I have a really cheap hydrometer....I am using 25W bulbs.....(may need to add a second fan...I dunno?)

Looks perfect, you adding wire on the bottom so air flows under eggs? U have a thermostat? and plenty of ventilation?
