They are Hedemora chicks. Cute little things! My bantams weren't this small!

Here they are! You have a noisy one in the group! Everyone else was passed out when they got here. He was cheeping away!

I am putting my east indie ducks up for sale, They have been together since hatch so I do not want to seperate them, what are the chances of someone buying all 8 and keeping them as a flock.....FYI, I tried Chelsea, she would only want 2.....

I am also still up in the air on price, these are not everyday ducks so I will not sell for a low price... need some guidance here...my ducks usually go by weight on a plate...
feb 10 hatch date, so
i do have quite a bit of time and feed in them
I would swap ya chicks & poults for them if ya want.

Chippysmom,
I didn't realize you lived so close to me. I'm about 35 min. from murrysville. I'm so happy your cousin is okay. Praying for the other students too.

Is anyone going to the buy swap trade for the uniontown poultry association this Sunday? I've never been and really want to go.

Awesome! And I'm hopefully going to the swap this Sunday! :)

I'll be looking for a bantam cochin hen and any type of rooster that catches my eye I may get. They have to be nice though. I don't know. A roo just has to meet my certain criteria and I have to like the vibe he gives off.

So... how's the green dragon market? I've never been there and like to go tomorrow. Is there usually a good selection during their small animal auctions?

Beautiful day today! I got some yard work done and the babies out to play in their playpen :) they got to eat some worms that I found for them and scratch and dust :) they were having a ton of fun! I really don't want to take them in yet but I don't have anything to securely cover their pen while I go pick up the kids. Oh well. At least they got out for a while.

You know you've gone over to the dark side when you look for worms and bugs just to feed your chickies!

Yep, finished roto-tilling and raking out the garden, the first peas just sprouted...tried to harden off some other plants yesterday, but they look pretty beat up,,,,will try to get them in over the weekend....

I just started my snap peas the other day too. Just tried planting radishes. Anyone have any experience with them? What a wonderful week to get ourdoor work done!

Great day to get work done! I love how when DH roto tills all my chickens follow him around. It becomes a game.

Awesome that your hubby roto tills your garden, and I love his parade! :thumbsup

We started the duck area today. Got this pond for free and DH helped me put it in and run the drain line.

That looks like a lovely duck paradise if I ever saw one!

Had a mini freak out moment yesterday while outside with the chicks. One of them just plopped down, flattened her body out and stretched her leg. Then I remembered how my Aunt's chickens enjoyed sunbathing on these lovely warm days. Then a couple other chicks did the same thing. Thy look like they're hypnotized when they do this. I love learning all of their new behaviors!:Dc
