Anyone else want to do an egg swap while I have the bators on?

Just holler when they go out :)

  I have a good...bad issue, well for me bad cause I am not doing the "chick" thang at the moment...
Hen-Bree is broody..not just "oh, I think I'll sit for a little bit here"..oh no...she is all out CRAZY broody..and she isn't even sitting on ANYTHING 99% of the time, sometimes she will sit on someone elses egg...she is not laying, she has de-feathered herself on the underside to 'soften' the nest, she will just sit there all; day ....so I pick her up, she stays in that "i am sitting on something" position until she get's the motivation to go and eat..peck around a little, get a drink..and poop the most stinkiest, green thing I ever saw:eek: :sick ....yep.
I am trying to talk DH into may be getting something at TSC.:smack ...we are getting our meaty and turkey pullets on the 3rd on May...Does anyone think she would "mother" them for a bit??..maybe help to snap-her out of this craziness...We aren't going to do anything about her until we get back...like, maybe separate her from the rest, and try to coax her out of broodiness.... ....If anyone has any suggestions...BESIDES..more birds...geesh:p ....I would love to hear them...Thank you-Danielle:)

Yep, wing has eggs :)

I went to my friend today and he gave me 18 fertile hen eggs, and he gave me 3 fertile duck eggs as well and I don't want them to go to waste, as I also wanted to hatch them so what do I do, can I hatch them together or what.
(I have a sixty egg incubator so space isn't a problem) Help!

Ducks just take an extra week, bump humidity about 15% higher than you run for chicks for lockdown, & be patient...duckies can take a full 3 days to hatch once they get started.

guys these eggs were supposed to hatch on easter morning as a surprise for my little sister and the serama's are pipped and cheeping its only day 18 i don't even have the brooder set up omg

Serama only take 19 days!

Woops... maybe I shoulda set these two days after the others!

So i start the hatch at 45% then when it hits lockdown for the hens do i move it up to 65% humidity ( during lockdown do i still turn the duck eggs ) then when the chicks hatch should i raise the humidity up to 80% for the last week of the ducks

hey you guys

Just swing by wingstone, I'm sure she can supply you with something for her to sit on. Then she'll be a happy chicken!
What's a few more birds among friends?

Don't thank me, Glad I could help. Always here with a suggestion.
you be soooo funny Ray

Well yes,
How about some bantam Cochin eggs, fetility is great and you can have twice as many since they are bantam,,,or how about a few duck eggs, scovies are mute so no one would know they were there...or maybe quail, them you ( or hubby, in your case) can have dinner in as little as 6 weeks.

Hey, I am just helping the poultry pimp
Hmmm, now those Quail sound realll interesting...Let me talk to Hubby...

, 6 weeks is NOT long.....

That's for forced air. If you have still air you can get away with about 15% lower all the way around on humidity. During active hatch for the chicks you can skip turning the ducks.

there is a fan in my incubator is that what you mean by forced air, and so after the chicks hatch do i justc stop turning the duck eggs, and do i need to lift the chicks out as they hatch
