Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Today's dose of cute.
Granted, it's a mix. The pattern and feathered legs? Interesting at least. Mother was barnyard mix, part silkie, dad a Swedish Flower.

Cute chick! Will its head stay lighter, or just no feathers up there yet??

My Easter babies!

Love the fluffy butts!!!!

More cute chicks!!! Are those eggs in the turner dyed??

New chicks, but 6 days old.....

...and the whole family. Daddy to the chicks is this dun Sumatra.

Beautiful family!!!

Husband was talking about getting a hive for our yard. We only have .17 ac. Is that too small?

LB:

I looked into getting bees...you do not need alot of space for a hive...it should be sheltered and not in the direct path of humans....in a really small backyard situation, your neighbors may have issues...(though honey bees are not aggressive at all)....certain breeds of British and Italian bees are so docile they can land on you and won;t sting, and I know a bee keeper who has hives within 15ft of each other and the hives let each other alone....my two cents....

The rooster is a dun Sumatra and the hen is 1/2 black Sumatra so that makes the chicks 3/4th Sumatra. The breeder I got the hen from doesn't remember what the other half is.
