have four out, drying off, i think all together theres about two dozen due tomorrow, then next week i have another two dozen due
the only broody i have right now is an old english, she might be able to cover three eggs lol, so all eggs go into the incubator

and if you're lucky enough will have a long fall so your beans develop inside the shell, limas are tough for us, we usually get frost before i get very many but i keep trying

Yeah Limas are a tough one, too cold or too wet and you aren't going to get much of anything. We love them though, so we keep trying every year as well, some years are great and some are a total bust.

Can anyone give me a guess to what this might be. It was in the bantam bin with the silkies I purchased. I was first thinking that it was a meat bird but it is now still slightly smaller than the silkies at 4-5 weeks of age. Taking poultry to auction tmw and am willing to keep this one if it might be worth my time to see what it grows up to be. Is it possible that its a Cornish bantam?

I've tried to get a better picture but it won't cooperate.
Leg color and thickness? any feathering on legs?

You are going to have a few busy weeks!

You could always give the OE hen a few of the brahma chicks, that should be a cute picture in about 3 weeks or so when they are bigger than her!

i do have a couple of her eggs in the bator, but i know for sure the one won't be able to hatch unless i can help, its upside down, the air pocket is in the pointy end, will try to help but don't know for sure if its still alive.
i know, when everybody hatches, will take pic's

Here's its legs. Deffinately thicker than my other chicks but the bird itself is not much bigger than my small fist.

another way to narrow down your options.... call the store you got it from, ask what hatchery they get their stock from.... then check out the hatchery web site for their 'straight run bantam specials' and see if they have any bargain groups. Or at least see what bantam breeds they carry in general.
