Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

It is the top of the mountain ridge, you can Google the image for tree leaf lane, Milroy pa..the very end of the road you can barely see a trailer in the middle of the woods,,,,that's it....I spend a few weekends there every summer.
Which one was it, they had some nice looking roo's
I have Dominique going into breeding pens tomorrow
They can get yucky if not dumped daily
They looked good and tasty

..I will look this up & it is looking like we may have a few people also interested in this get-together thingy! This is your place and you are willing to have it?....so, what do I owe you?

..be gentle please....
Well my meaties are now 9 weeks old and ready to be processed. But I'm very nervous doing this by myself. I've never done it before or even seen it done. Just a few YouTube videos. I hope I can stomach this... Now that the time is here, I'm second guessing myself.

you will do fine..just breathe..and have confidence! You CAN & WILL do this!

That picnic place is about an hour and a half for me also. Depending on which way I go. Scenic but shorter way is longer in time. Would be fun. I can't do it on May 4th or 10th, nor any other Sundays, or on June 28. Not sure about the rest of the dates for the summer. But if it happens, I can bring pasta salad.
Hmmm, pasta salad..

, okay, maybe best if we set something up for later in the warmer months?...If everyone who is interested gets with their calendars..and finds some dates that would work for them, maybe we can get a bigger number together. So, start looking people!!

Someone told me that they're black breasted reds but that was based on pictures of them at 2-3 weeks old. I'm guessing they were right though. We only got them because we drove to punxy the one day since the TSC there had EEs and I really wanted some so we let each of the kids pick a bantam. They are the cutest little things with great personalities though. Chip and Cookie were named before we even made it home that day lol. They are actually 7 weeks old today. In the background behind Chip are Sugar and Lily, two of the EEs we picked up that day.
Cute!

welcome to all of the new folks!!

You can do this Avlana! Just take it one bird at a time and you will be so glad afterwards! It is difficult but so worth it! Wish you lived closer, I'd be glad to help.

Well, today DH and I are tearing down an old shed (floor went bad) to make room for the new one. After we get it torn down I will use the little backhoe to prep the site with a new base pad (made out of railroad ties and gravel) for the new shed. Will be great to have this done and then be able to expand the chicken run to extend from the original coop to the new shed so we can do some fancy fencing and create a couple of breeding pens. Going to be a busy day today though!

This place actually belongs to my big brother, but I help him out with things, like upkeep and closing up each winter, it is nothing fancy really just a cabin in the woods....it has electric and water is pumped in from. A local stream....it is roughing it without the tent...

If everyone could come up with a weekend, I can let my brother know I will be going up then and having guest, his only rules are ..clean up after yourself and replace the wood that you burn.( fireplace outside and a redneck fire pit, actually an old tire rim)

Being in the woods you would have the normal critters so remember that we are part of the food chain

I have a book sitting next to me with who has what breeds. Silky Sensation, Reyvaughn, Eweaber, and possibly Ray have BR.
No bourbons, just slates & palms right now. I have a batch of mixed eggs in that may produce a bourbon though.

I see fisherlady said she is too far, but how far are you from wingstone? I can't remember off the top of my head, but there are others who have offered to help process as well. Maybe 1 of them is close enough.

Just looked up the State Park.... this is very, very do-able for us!! We are off most weekends, I work every other Sunday though till first week of June, then I start my summer schedule and am off every weekend just about till October (seniority and being at a job 20+ years has it's benefits! LOL)
DH and I have tent camping supplies and are able to bring about anything needed. Just give us a date!
