I will give it another week or so and then decide his fate. I have a 2 year old and don't want to worry about him coming after her while free ranging. So far our EE roo is nice. We had a silkie roo in the past that was a sweetheart. One day he went missing while free ranging. We also had a leghorn roo that was wonderful with us but went after this particular hen every chance he got. He cornered her in the nesting box and it looked like a murder scene. Not sure what he didn't like about her but she is a wonderful layer and all he did was eat up food and take up space so he was the one that went. I hate to lie to the kids but maybe I will tell them that Hatcher our roo went for a walk and didn't come back home. It looks like our one polish chick is going to be a roo and I don't want anymore than 2 anyway. Thanks for all the feedback!

Guess the name should be changed to Mt. Not-so-Healthy Hatchery.

Scary thing is that that's where TSC gets their chicks from here. Which means that is where my Brahmas and Bantams came from...
NOW what do I do? D: should I be worried??
Some get from a hatchery in Michigan...but just use common sense. Wash hands after touching birds, make sure kids wash hands, keep chicks away from your face...& don't lick your birds...lol
