Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Question for the group!

I got an egg in the nest box...........that had liquid around it.............and on the pine shavings................damp watery..........

Is this just and extra dose of BLOOM?  or does one of my gals have leak or medical issue?

the egg looked quite fine and all girls seem themselves...........

never saw this?

I've collected wet eggs many a time. They are wet when freshly laid, if it's more than that, I don't know. I wouldn't worry if the chooks are acting normally in every other aspect.

The brave chick I mentioned yesterday. I'm assuming it's a Swedish flower, unless it came through the fence from another run and decided to stay.

This is awesome! What a brave little one.

Tried my hand at goat cheese again today. Epic fail. Let's just say, if I lived in pioneer times, we'd starve.

Ss, that is what has me confused. It isn't a problem to use on swine, beef or poultry. Why horses? And who the heck is raising horse meat??

Canadians eat it all the time. Very popular up there.
does anyone in the washington area have week old chicks?? I only have 1 hatch and need a freind for my chick,

Wish I was still over that way. Ton of chicks running around here right now.

thanks I even tried one of my broodies but shes not wanting it...I put a mirror in there now its chirping at the reflection :pop

I had a lone chick for the entire month of February. Someone bought all my chicks & later that evening I had a late hatcher. My daughter stuffed a bath poof in with her for company & it stayed in her room for a whole month til i got some broilers & she went in with them. She was the quietest chick we ever had. Due to the nature of her brooder buddy & her very puffy cheeks, she was dubbed Puffers. She is the friendliest pullet in the coop. She will walk right up to you & demand to be picked up. And she's bigger than some of my full grown hens already & she's only 5 months old. Expecting eggs from her any day now. A few of my December & January pullets just started to lay so she shouldn't be far behind.

So she imprinted on a plastic bath poof....aren't you worried she'll lay eggs like these?

After a year and a half, my landlord informs me today that I have to get rid of my chickens. I can't fight it, so first offer takes them.
2 lavender orps, hatched 2/13
1 black true Ameraucana, 2/13
4 silkies, 3/13
1 crested cream legbar, 2/14
2 brown leghorns, 2/14
2 rhodebars (not very pure) 2,14
I hatched every one of them and they are
all great layers, got 12 eggs today, 9 yesterday. The young ones just started laying few weeks ago. All are friendly and very spoiled. I am heartbroken, just want them to go to a good home, hopefully with more freedom than we have here. We are in Delaware county, very close to I-95 & Delaware border.
Please PM me if interested.

Sadly, I cannot help you out with rehoming your chickens as I am a long way from you ... a very long way!

I just wanted to say that I am really sorry to read that you have to get rid of your chickens, that is so sad

Luckily, we have a nice landlord and our girls are not a problem. If I had to get rid of my girls, I would be moving!
