Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

i read about a hen doing that after a heavy molt, now just have to remember where

Maybe, the story goes....she was broody last fall and hatched three chicks...this spring, she started laying then stopped....about three months later, she started doing the roo dominance dance...two days ago she started crowing....way back in the day she was a low ranking hen and has risen in the ranks to be the most dominant 'girl'...who knows

If you don't see Fresh Eggs Daily stuff, here was their post this morning.

Eggs in Clouds

Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients
4 eggs
1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 450 and line a sturdy cookie sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
2. Separate eggs, putting the whites in a large mixing bowl and the yolks in separate little cups.
3. Whip the whites at high speed until stiff peaks form, about 2-3 minutes.
4. Gently stir in the cheese, then divide the whites into 4 "cloud" shapes on the baking sheet. Make a little well in the center of each cloud.
5. Bake for 3 minutes, then slide the cookie sheet out and gently slip a yolk into each well. Cook for another 3 minutes.
6. Gently remove with a spatula and serve!

looks nice, but too much work for me!!!

Yep, I've played that game myself...except its two roos and 5-6 girls.....

yeah he just kept clucking like something startled him I thought the neighbors dog came over or something. I guess iys better then 2 roos. I just have 1 roo and 7 girl's

once they get going its contagious...it usually goes like this....egg song followed by main Roo joining in, other big girls hear the Roo and join in the alert....Second Roo sounds General Quarters and the 'young'ins' take cover and he will keep sounding off until main Roo goes quiet....(repeat a 100 times)

Anybody that lives in or around Lancaster could you please help? I want to take on family on a weekend trip to your area and would like to know some must see places. So far on my list is : Bird-in-Hand farmers market, The Green Dragon, Dutch Wonderland, and Strasburg Rail Road. Anything I am missing? Any recommend places to stay? Looking to go in about two weeks.

Dutch Wonderland was my recommendation. Zins Diner closed (I cried!!) Dorney Park and Wild Water Kingdom are great amusement parks. Wear water shoes if you go. WWK redid some water rides, and used tar for part of the line. Bare feet hurt!!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions!

I was working in my garden tonight. It's been a bad year for my veggies. Something ate all my peas and green beans. Half of my squash plants died and tonight I noticed great big green caterpillars all over my tomato plants! Ugh!
