Today, hubby fed the chickens for the first time in quite a while. When he came in, he told me that he was really confused. He saw a chicken out there that he didn't recognize AT ALL. It took him a few minutes to realize that no, I didn't sneak any new ones in there. It was one of the 11 week olds. He couldn't believe how big they'd gotten already lol. Speaking of which, they are starting to get their adult voices. They're somewhere in between a sqwauk and peep and at least one of the boys has started crowing I just don't know which one. I also moved Midnight and her crew into the main coop today. I've been letting them free range at the same time as the main flock as much as I can and everyone seems to be letting each other alone. Once I saw them follow her inside the main run, I figured it was time. So I put Midnight, her 3 babies, a bowl of food, and a water dish in the coop. They seem content so far. I figure when they get brave enough, they'll come out of the coop. I was going to wait until after Christmas to move them but it just felt right today.
