You need a secure coop you can lock them in at night.

I was thinking that too. Every time I lose to a predator, I get all crazy making sure that can never happen again. It takes me extra time to build a coop or run, but when I'm finished, it's a fort that no predator can ever penetrate. My stock is far too valuable to let them become food.

X3!

Update on the mold bag of food. Called Purina with the lot # and they are sending me a coupon for a free bag, but the lady strongly recommended I not buy food a few months in advance, but to buy it fresh often. Was very suprised to have my call answered by a real person!

That's awesome. Glad you were able to get new feed.

I'm in the middle of making an old, falling apart, shed into Ft. Knox at my new place before I take the birds there. The turkeys & peas are too valuable to lose & I have woods on 3 sides & a cow pasture with a creek across the road. Who knows what kind of predators are lurking.
Probably lots.
