Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

My kids and I are waiting anxiously the arrival of our baby chicks. They left Polk Ohio yesterday and we are tracking them as the a move closer to central Pennsylvania. The brooder is set up and warm. The post office said the get 2 express shipments
per day morning and afternoon. Expecting them this afternoon barring any problems. Hoping for no mortalities. Kids are soo excited.

That is so exciting! I have 2 small shipments of eggs this week. Hoping for the non-scrambled! Who is shipping your chicks? You look pretty close to me.

So today I bought some blue pond dye from TSC because it looked cool and I am tired of a green pond. I mean I have a filtration system that works for about a month but might as well make it blue! This stuff is terrible! I mean the pond is blue but so is the floor of my shop and my muck boots are now a shiny blue! So I went to poor my 1/4th teaspoon of this blue stuff that would make my pond blue and split a bit on my shoes. Like really only a drop but when I went to wipe it off it just went all over my boots! So then I go to walk to the pond in my blue shoes and I spill the 1/4th teaspoon of this blue stuff on the floor. No big deal, so I get a mob to clean it up and the blue stuff spreads ALL OVER! Now about a 3 ft by 3ft area of the cement floor in my shop is deep blue! Sorry for the rant but anyone have any ideas to remove the blue?

When I dye my hair funky colors like blue and purple, the only thing that takes it off of countertops is Oxyclean. That stuff is amazing. Just make a paste, apply it, and let it sit for a while. Good luck!

I'm in Canton. If your profile is correct, we are about fifteen minutes apart. I leave in the morning. I'm here because I was sitting at home, crying all day and night since February. Losing my husband is gonna kill me.

So sorry. I don't know what's going on, but sending prayers and loving thoughts your way. :hugs

Fingers crossed! How many chicks are you expecting? What kinds?

I have only done grocery store goose but it is great. All dark meat, which the Big GUy likes best. Roasted on a rack to keep it out of its grease. Basted with Shiraz wine. Nom.

I'm so sorry for your frustration, but your shenanigans made me laugh! *Totally* something that would happen to me!! :)
Good luck!

If you don't mind, I'm curious. What do you pay for a grocery store goose?
When I was a child we raised our own geese and we and all the relatives got a Christmas goose.
Lately, I've really wanted to roost a goose again, but when I checked the stores who carry them only at holidays and butcher shops, they cost between $69.00 and $100.00, which I thought was a little pricey. But perhaps that is to be expected when I checked out the price on one day old goslings and depending on the breed they were between $11.00 and $13.00 plus change.

Going into lockdown on Friday. I'm excited, going for chick starter later, gonna start my ferment tomorrow. Working on 2 new brooder totes today!

-Wish I would have saw this sooner.... Tried to clean it with soapy water. Now my shop has soapy blue water everywhere! It has a drain but I have a brooder sitting on it and the water has spread so I cant even step In the normal entrance... I have to go through a window!

Am I the only one that find this all humorous? I should add, I'm a printer and my hands and clothes are always stained multiple colors. I've also had several run ins with blu-cote, so I'm laughing with, not at.

No, I find it VERY funny! I just stare at the floor and laugh... I went to milk cows yesterday and my partner at the dairy farm asked if I had killed a smurf! My hands and lower four arms were entirely blue! It came off later with that orange stuff that removes paint... After washing my hands for about 30 min! The cows that have mastitis and had to be milked by hand teat's were ALL blue. It said on the bottle it was dangerous? I also got some in my when I foolishly touched my eye and my eye turned blue!!! It was frightening to see the blue spread across my lower eye until my lower eye was actually blue. NO KIDDING. The blue came out after I put a q-tip in makeup remover and "cleaned" my eye. I was freaked out but the bottle said if you got it in your eye just to wash your eye.....
