Did. You get it, you could have used one of the trucks..
Knowing your property, I would say go as large as you possibly can, you will be glad you did.

Got what I could afford. 48" 24hp lawn tractor. I'm letting them deliver it, that way I don't drop it. Would love to find an old cub lo boy with a belly mower, or similar when I can afford one. I have the whole field knocked down now and want to keep it that way. Three some clover seed in among the hundred trees I put in last year. The neighbor with the orchard had someone put some be hives on his land and I've seen honeybees on the weed flowers, so things are slowly coming around in this little corner.
Hummingbirds are back, orioles are building nests, bluebirds are nesting. All is well.

I have no idea what a vacation away is, then I realize people go away to visit places like I call home.

What I can afford right now... I would be cutting the yard with a pair of scissor..
Nevermind, I do that now.....not all my critters can free range, so I gotta forage for them... wonder what the neighbor's think

I looked at a lot of mowers and the cubs were on the list. I avoid credit, tractor supply doesn't deliver, and the cub is a redesigned model this year. It's tough going by online reviews since there are always defective products and those are the people most likely to write a review.
My property isn't the same as the next guys, so my use will be different. My neighbor actually had a John Deere dealer come out to recommend the best for his property, a 25hp diesel garden tractor. My land is similar, but I can't justify that kind of purchase.
Ended up at Lowes, and I rarely go there, don't like their location, a pain in the butt drive. At least my nephew has a loyalty card there. Didn't save me anything, but that kind of purchase on his card is bound to get them some nice coupons!

My understanding is this....most use either one of two motors Briggs or Kholer with Kholer being preferred...most riding mowers (of all brands)are assembled in Carlyle PA and use mostly the same sets of parts....I use Johnson small motors in Downingtown, PA. you might be able to pick up a used one on the cheap...

Dang that's rough... sorry you are having such a time of it with the fox... hope you find the other opening and can provide payback soon!

Yep, its the killing fields....I have less hens than when I started...and I have x6 that need to go outside. This morning I bought a gallon of ammonia and poured it down the den opening using a piece of garden hose....followed up with a gallon of bleach.....had hoped to hear a response but didn't hear anything....

lol, we used to do that at our old house but then, we couldn't afford a weed wacker and it was way to small for a lawn mower. I bet anyone who saw us thought we were crazy! Forgot to mention, this was out front of the house along the sidewalk, the back was just a dirt patch.

I like the way you operate. May have to try that with some groundhog holes here.

And yes, most mowers are made by MTD and branded with whatever, troy- built, yardman, cub, craftsman, husky, etc. Husqvarna makes theirs plus poulan and ariens. There are two other manufacturers, but I'm not sure who they are, Honda may be one. Most use the same transmissions and engines. Differences become things like deck strength, grease fittings and bells and whistles. I went for grease fittings over some bells and whistles. Things like ungreassble blade spindles make no sense to me.
