Quote: I that 1 of my pilgrim babies in the bottom right corner?
yep...
They are getting big FAST!
so am I !!! must be something in the water..(or the not smoking thing )).
seriously though, these 2 are spoiled rotten little babies, they are much more people friendly than any of the ducks and easy on my wallet since no matter what food I put in front of them they prefer to eat grass and weeds.
been a while since I have had time to sit in front of a computer.....but I was going to make a decision on adding a new breed. been researching them both, in love with them both, but the decision is only one of them. any discussions, comments, preferances, concerns, or how to make the final choice between the two......PENEDESENCA OR FAYOUMI
Gorgeous!m LOVE the barred cockerel, what breed?
Let's see now....if I had to choose between those 2, I would say.....uh... Orpingtons. Yup, Orpingtons. Final answer.
The adults are the same. I open their pen & let them free range when possible. They nibble at their fermented feed those days. The only time they eat the feed is if they are stuck in the pen. They will grab a little corn & sweet mix if I toss it on the ground while they are grazing though.so am I !!! must be something in the water..(or the not smoking thing )). seriously though, these 2 are spoiled rotten little babies, they are much more people friendly than any of the ducks and easy on my wallet since no matter what food I put in front of them they prefer to eat grass and weeds.
I may need to make a roadtrip. I want that lavender roo. @wingstone do you still want this pair of pilgrims? Anyone else over that way want chicks or turkeys to make my trip worthwhile?Lol! Not even sure what colors you have any more! You know, I've been hatching out a lot of them this year, my project birds, starting to get a lot black and yellow now, used to be a lot of blue in there. I'm not even using the partridge roo for breeding at this time, so if you need him back...,. Or if you want a lavender roo.... Or chicks......Let's see now....if I had to choose between those 2, I would say.....uh... Orpingtons. Yup, Orpingtons. Final answer.

@emorems0 is having her brother pick up a couple hens this weekend to deliver to her. Maybe if you ask her nicely she'll convince him to take Mr lavender and she'll get him as far as the western part of the state?
I don't believe she is extremely far from you, Beaver county, maybe?
Just a thought. Heck, I'll even throw in Mr partridge. He is a gorgeous bird.
No charge from this end for them,
Does anyone sell free-range, pasture-fed turkeys? What do you charge?
We raised them last year for ourselves and have had a few friends ask. We want to ensure we cover our costs, not necessarily make a hefty profit.
[I'm not in a heavily saturated market up here in the far northeast]
