We are at camp near Lake City...and raining over here too! security cameras are showing a lot of wet birds out running around at home now...silly birds have 400+ ft of roofed run to stay dry under but still go into the 400 Sq ft of open run instead!

I knew she was in foal. I said it was going to be late June, early July. I just checked her and she was bagged up, but her teats weren't firm. She ate her night time grain as usual... No restlessness... nothing to make me think she was ready to foal. I have had her on one heck of a feeding schedule trying to put the weight back on her before the foal was born. I was afraid Dusty would be to weak to give birth if she would have went sooner, or the foal would be weak. Or I would loose both... Just, I wanted her here because of her conditions - pregnant and severely underweight. I was trying to give her every chance I could - especially after finding out the neighbor lost 2 foals over winter because the mares aborted them. Again, all his mares were bred and all were underweight. Some not as bad as Dusty and some not much better than her. She was the worst though.

It's tough when you can't help them all. But you do what you can, and she's looking great, so you should feel good about it.

Hey, she handled the birth without you, and so far it seems like it all went fine, so yay for her and yay for you for getting her to that point!

Fingers crossed for their both continuing to thrive. And congratulations!

They are approximately 10 weeks old. Only one is crowing, although I suspect that both are roos. They are in a little bachelor pen with some very vocal OEGB, so maybe that was encouragement.

Anyone else having nothing but downpours today?

Nothing but rain for the past month :/ we had maybe 3 nice days in there. Our garden is doing horrible. It's so water logged that everything seems stunted. Our tomatoes did obviously spurt up on one sunny day but haven't done a thing since. I'm tired of rain.
