The mature ones all go in the coop. It is the 4 new ones from June's hatch that are little feral weirdos. Out of the 18 eggs, I got 6 hatchings. Dog grabbed one and Pete wound up on the other side of the fence and wouldn't come back one night. Pile of feathers. So the 4 are at least not jumping the fence, just roosting where they ought not.
 
i want to have a boring day. Just one. I want a day to go by with no emergencies. Just one. Just. ONE. I am losing my marbles people, and it ain't pretty.

I guess it got too cold last night and all the babies crammed in the corner to stay warm. When I went to the bus stop it was only 39 degrees.

Oh and lucky me, the reaction from the medication the doctor prescribed me has me in a sling for a week. Of course it is my dominate hand and I am finding it hard to get things done. Sigh. The doctor knew last year I had a reaction and she still prescribed it to me since the medicine couldn't have caused my problems last year. I'm so angry.

Sorry for your Silkie and the medical issue. I hate those side effects of medicines. One time I lost my vision for about 1 minute because the stupid medicine my doctor gave to me. It scare me so much. Hope you feel better.

Got my new chicken today. She is very unsure of her surroundings, but I know she will fit in soon. She is in the middle of a heavy molt, so she is probably more uncomfortable, poor thing. Will post pictures of "Machicka" soon.

I have extras of all of those too. The cochin bantam roos have surprised me with how well they do free ranging on the farm. I thought they would be the first eaten by foxes and such, but they seem to know to stay close to the buildings.
