I got my Silver Laced Wyandottes and Black Australorps from a place called Freehling Farms out in Kittaning PA. and I have a quad of CCL chicks coming in from dheltzel (one of the crazy chicken people in this thread) who is a wealth of information.
Hello, neighbor!Thank you! I am new to raising chickens. I have wanted them since I was a little girl. My DH finally agreed to let me have a few so I have 4 Buff Orpingtons that are 14 weeks. I chose them because of the hard winters we can have but see so many Pennsylvanians that have all kinds of chickens. Loved the Blue Copper Maran someone had above. Where does everyone get their chickens? I have room for 2 more and am trying to talk my DH into Getting two more.
No they don't have a minimum but they don't ship either. You can find them advertising on the pittsburgh area craigslist. The 7 birds I got off them have all been great with no health issues at all.Do they have a minimum number of chicks you can get?I got my girls from Meyers. I caught the chicken fever but would like to buy closer to home.![]()
Thought I'd share this pic while I'm at it. This is a pullet I hatched from eggs from Sara Sweatman.
