But is year I want to make a strawberry patch area down by my blueberry bushes

Well RR:

Something tells me we think the same....I have x4 blueberry bushes next to my garden where I transplanted a 5'x10' area of strawberries last fall...(still have a few plants to transplant).

@stake @Roada Red What are your planting methods for strawberries? I have two in a planter from 2 summers ago, but I've wanted to do more (dream would be enough for jam :d).

I take 4x4s and tske some potting soil and plant them in that but under the potting soil and put plastic down and fold the plastic up to keep weeds from growing they do really good we had some planted like that for over 8 years

I LOVE strawberries, my favorite fruit :) I plant them under my rose bushes, keeps the weeds away once they spread and fresh berries! I've never had a plant die on me, and I don't do anything special (I typically suck at gardening)

Last year I planted strawberries in a window box, but they dried out and died. Oops!
During our warmer weather, I planted strawberries again. This was back when we had temperatures in the 70s with lows in the upper fifties. It died. Though that wasn't a surprise either, because it was sickly when I bought it. I should have opened up the inner bag to see with the plant itself looked like before buying. I Will try again in a few weeks.
Since I will be buying yet another plant, what do you guys suggest? I had used the ever bearing before. Do you prefer something else?

Dirt or sand. Wood ashes too.
And, hi! :D

The chicks are a day or so shy of being eight weeks, and they seem to be comfortable with exploring outside of the run now. They don't seem to be at the point where they will be in the run while the adults are there, but as long as the adults are out in the yard, the chicks come out and the adults no longer chase them back in.
Duckling made us supper tonight! :love
