Interesting only the waterfowl were taken, sigh. Isn't it unusual for a non-human predator to choose one species over another? Ask a friend who is a hunter for a trailside camera like they use to photo game to see who is feeding where. Mount it so it covers the area your birds are. But here humans can't reach it.Hey all, I'm really behind in life in general, and this forum specifically, but I have a problem and I really am hoping for some help...
Last night, two of my geese and six of my ducks did not come inside. ...polish and silkies to have been picked off, not the biggest birds in the yard.
...and I doubt that the birds would just wander off, given that they are a tight-knit flock, half of which are still here.
I spoke to a police officer, but he seemed kind of confused (like, why would anyone steal birds???) ... Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm going crazy here.
So sorry for your missing birds.,
Karen
