Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

X2. We were sitting outside (screen porch) watching the storm earlier and advisor had to come back inside because the lightning was so close and the rain was driving in through the screen.

Aurora..we had some very heavy rain here in clinton co., got a bit 'breezy' too...only 4 peaches fell, hubby watched out the windows the whole time talking to the tree...:barnie ..hahhaha
temps. are little bit better, but it is still so humid ...i am staying in the AC...i don't like to get used to it, but this heat makes me sick..blah:sick
not going to complain too much, finally some rain!!! :yesss: ...oh..i guess that means i have to turn over the chicken run...man:/

Whew! I'm pretty sure our house got struck by lightning, or we got hit extremely close because our tv and lights popped and I felt static-y immediately afterwards. No damage done though, aside from a fried internet router and stereo receiver, and some water getting in.

I forgot to close the coop's small window grate, so babies got showered on a bit by horizontal rain, but between showers I quickly changed their indoor bedding.

Thankful for this rain though...

we lived at a place that had a very old dish in the yard..i mean old school dish, you could lay inside of it...anyway..we would get the most heck-asious storms, green sky's..you know, the works.

Well, that dish was a beacon for lightening...constant "pows" and 'pops" outside, would even knock clocks and pictures off the walls...we had strikes so close that the hairs on your arms would

stand straight up! crazy-nuts feeling, killed our old floor model TV twice, that was the worst because at the time our girls were just toddlers & they couldn't watch their disney videos-VHS (did I just date myself?

)...sound like you most definitely had a strike...glad noone or birds were hurt.

Hello...another late owl??...

if you are just putting them in the fridge and like a pickle similar to a claussen kosher dill..then I have a recipe you might enjoy and you don't have to "can" them....they stay crunchy...DH loves these.

For 1 Quart jar..

..* enough pickles for a quart jar, preferably whole, but will still be awesome if cut.
*1 clove garlic, sliced in half or quartered
*1 small onion quartered, separate pieces to fit into jar
*Fresh dill sprigs, if you like a 'dill' pickle..add extra, i feel you can not have enough of that great herb!!
* 3 cups water, cold or normal temp.
* 1 cup white vinegar
*1 tsp. canning salt

clean and sterilize your jar(s).stuff cucumbers, onion, garlic and dill into jar. In a separate bowl combine water, vinegar and salt. Add liquid to the jars, fill to cover cucumbers/ingredients.attach your clean/sterile lids and rings. Put into fridge, taste test in a week. **I have tested in three days, they were very edible, but letting them go the whole week

..need i say more?>>>
Not really sure how long these guys last, honestly, they aren't around long enough to find out

.
Obviously if you more cucumbers, then just adjust ingredients accordingly.

If you would like a "canned" pickle recipe, i have a great one for that too. Hope this helps, good luck!
