If you know how many chickens you have, you need more.
According to chicken math, none.
I have two ducks that have been laying, and one still holding out.
I have ... I really don't know for sure how many chickens I have. I think it is 23. That would be .... Wait. Maybe 22. Ummmm... I think I have 12 that could be laying.
Plus three female ducks
Plus a female turkey.
I was getting 13 eggs a day, then 11 when the EE stopped. Now nine if both current laying female ducks lay.

I have 14. One EE is broody and I have yet to catch my 2 Welsummer cross pullets laying. I can't figure out if there are eggs that are theirs. So I know for sure I have 11 laying. We got 10 eggs yesterday. Right now it ranges from 6-10 a day. I try to keep the less then five dozen in the fridge. I have a lot of siblings to give them too plus the owner of barn where my horse lives puts in her order

This week I have noticed a greener egg in the mix. I mentioned yesterday that I thought it odd that my EE egg had gotten greener and darker. Yesterday there was a green egg. My EE is laying in box now. Soooo I will be able to see if the eggs match OR my Wellie mixes are OEs and finally laying!!!

Desperation has me asking everyone. "Can" I get a plumber? The only one to respond will charge $150 for coming out.
I had a handyman "fix" it. He changed the gasket(? the rubber thing) and told me that it's normal to drip for a few seconds and not to over tighten. It was leaking again within a week. The guy is too old and overworked to come back.
Do you know what could be wrong?

Fall has arrived in Chester co....and for those that haven't had the privilege to visit Blarney...the views from her patio put this to shame.....B: I am going to put up some hard cider and may need to trick or treat you...lol....

:( I love your hard cider. :th

I know! Right? His hard cider is amazing. You should bottle it and sell it. And if you trick or treat here, you would be the only one. We never get any. But I don't let that stop me from buying the candy....just in case. ;)

Hard water deposits can prevent valve from closing completely...I will have radioman give you a call.

Anyone want a Welsh Harlequin drake? I have an extra one.

How about roos? I have extra cockerels of these breeds if anyone is looking for good breeding stock. I am going to free range any that are still left when it gets cold and I have to abandon the portable coops for the winter. They are all very colorful and well behaved (so far, the Legbars might develop a bad attitude later).
  • Black Ameraucana (show birds directly from Johh Blehn)
  • Silver Ameraucana (show birds directly from Johh Blehn)
  • Jill Rees Cream Legbars

Any of these could hitch a ride west on the chicken train next weekend.
