Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

Finally! One chick has hatched from my first setting. I think the incubator must be running a little too cool since it is more than a day late. I can't see it too well yet, but it looks black, so not a Legbar, probably a black (split for lavender) Ameraucana. That's ok, though black Ams are not rare, that is the breed/strain i have been most impressed with for appearance and size. They just started to lay and some days I have gotten 4 eggs from 7 pullets. That doesn't sound like much, but I'm getting more like 2 eggs from 30 pullets of some other breeds, so "yea, Black Ams" !!

I finally gave up on Ana quitting this broody thing. She's been sitting for like 2 months! I finally gave her a couple silkie eggs. There's a slight chance that they could still be pure lol. Hopefully she hatches at least one so she can play mama again and get this out of her system!

WHO EVER HAS EGGS SET IN JAN can join these two in their HAL, they are going to have a couple contests as well!! I think I may be able to donate some eggs or something for them.

When is Groundhog Day? We'd really like to make the trip across PA to see the groundhog this year
