I need someone in Berks/Lancaster to process my rooster. He charged me when I opened the coop door this morning and came at me while I was still in the run. I beat him with my feed scoop. I don't take the stick in with me in the morning because I usually have enough time to get out.

Someone told me that turkeys and chickens cannot share the same coop, fact or fiction?

I personally house them seperatly just because of their size but never had an issue with them free ranging together. My turkey hens will often go in the chicken coop to lay eggs in the too small nest boxes lol

That comes from a fear of blackhead, which chickens can carry without symptoms, but is usually fatal (or very bad) for turkeys. There is no blackhead in my area, so I keep extra roos with my turkeys sometimes.
Peafowl are the same way, very susceptible to blackhead.

Really addicted to this new IP camera we bought. @dheltzel actually gave me the idea a few posts back when he posted a cam with temperature sensor.

First one I tried was $40 and had to go straight back, the reception hardly reached the coop and was terrible. 2nd one by Reolink is awesome, it has 2 antennae giving it a really strong signal. I track all eggs laid by each chicken to see who are the big producers and count days off for broken broodies, this camera is giving me even more opportunity to geek out on the chicken activities/stats.

For example: Over the past 2 days the blue and buff orpington and araucana have all laid at exactly the same time. I thought an egg takes 25hours to form, I less for some layers. The Blue Orpington and NHR sit and lays in 10minutes, whereas the Buff Orpington takes 90minutes! Our Legbar stood and watched our Welbar for 45 minutes while she laid (like Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston!), then with the coop to herself spent the next 45 minutes laying (they grew up together).

Its on the TV at home, it's on the iPad, I've been watching on the train, checking at work, on the dash in the car. Great fun!
Sure, blame me for your latest addiction . . .
I guess I'm responsible for a whole lot of "wasted" time and money when you consider how many chicks I've distributed.

Just got back from my first trip away from birds. Lost 7 2 week old ducklings and I couldn't find one little Bantam rooster but it was dark. Pretty bummed about loosing my Welsh and my Muscovy Peking mix. Could have been worse I guess.
