I like brooding the babies in the coop after about a week. Basically, the very first time I have to change the brooder bedding, they go outside. They stay behind whatever fencing I happen to put up. So far, I have not had any problems with the adults hurting babies when I let them be together.

Awesome. Do you keep a heat lamp on for them, or do you use the heating pad setup?

I forgot how fun it is to watch these little guys. This one fell backwards and just fell asleep that way.

Heat lamp. Ironically, it has never been more than a week. I look through the window before bed, and when they are away from the lamp (six feet away) for three nights in a row, I turn it off. I then go to the coop 1 million times every evening for a while being sure they are still okay.
