Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

I just put 7 eggs into lockdown. 4 black Ameraucanas and 3 Mille Fleur Leghorns. I'm really hoping they hatch and I get at least 1 male leghorn to survive.

Yay!!!! Ohh I can't wait to see those little Black Ams! I have one left in the incubator that needs to hatch! (Pictures in a few, computer is acting up).

Speaking of shavings . . .
If anyone in the Chester Co area wants to get a supply of cheap shavings for bedding, Pughtown Agway has a brand the horse people didn't like, but I think works great. They have too much of it and are selling it to me for $3 a bale (about half price). If you tell them you are "Dennis' friend and want the $3 shavings" they will give you the same deal.

Oh wow. I might actually need to go down and get some, it's worth the drive for me unless my feed mill miraculously has them cheaper (I doubt that).

I actuary remembered to lock down my eggs this week  . There are 2 seramas and 2 sumo wrestlers (CX outcross) due on Friday :) Here's are the ones from last Friday that hatched in the cabinet. They're the big fat yellow ones. These were taken the day they hatched.

Wooohoo!! More babies! They're so beautiful!

I wish we lived closer, I would love the chickens and the ferrets! We had one when I was a teen and then two more when my kids were babies. I regret rehoming the last 2 we had, we only did that because they were biting my son and pooping everywhere, not in corners like the first one did.

Congratulations! I still can't get over how tough yet fragile chickens are.

:celebrate:wee:lau

It's so much fun isn't it?!

Ferrets can be finicky, but honestly once you understand how they work it's a piece of cake. When we can we're going to be opening up an animal rescue, starting with ferrets.

Last night into this morning was a roller coaster, and there's one more baby that needs to hatch still. He's having a little bit of trouble but I'm sure he'll get it.
