I think my geese may have gone after the mailman today  I hope I'm wrong but I had a box of eggs coming today and the box was on it's side on the top step of the screen porch and half soaked. That never happens. My boxes are always inside the screen porch and in front of the door. I guess it could've been a different person today but still. I'm a little concerned if I can get in trouble for it. I'm thinking that I may flag him down tomorrow and ask/apologize

It may be a good idea... did you see the pics of the high school golfer mugged by the goose last weekend? Not good for human/goose relations :th

Are the geese territorial with everyone or is there a chance for a peace treaty with the proper introduction and treats as incentive? It may end up being a lock up when deliveries are expected, but that would be a pain.

No, I didn't see it, I'll have to look for it. The boys are very territorial and even attack my husband since they haven't seen him much over the winter. I even warned my parents not to come up without calling me first to let me know that they are coming. Lollipop isn't bad, he just has a shoe fetish but Sunshine is the biter. Treats might work with Lollipop (he loves bread) but Sunshine doesn't like anything  Normally, I'm here and meet him outside if I have a package coming but today my daughter had dance pictures in Altoona immediately after school and I couldn't wait for him to get here.

We moved to the place we are living at in November so I did not have much time to set up a run outside for my chickens. I would still like to do it but we have foxes, hawks, and eagles around. I am trying to figure out how to put up a fence to keep them safe. so far we have only seen the foxes in the woods.

I shouldn't have, but I laughed. I once got bit on the butt by a goose when I was younger. I was wearing leggings and feeding ducks and geese at the park. One was not happy that I was not giving him food right away. :lau

Hopefully your eggs were okay and the postman has a sense of humor.

Some naughty little girl has been laying eggs behind our garage... under an oil tank. On gravel! There were over two dozen eggs. I have no idea who the culprit is. The eggs were probably old and dirty, so I cooked them up and fed them to the flock. Wow, those yolks were dark yellow! Now, to observe tomorrow and see who the mystery layer is.

Have my 6wk chickens out in the coop for the first time tonight. . .guess I'm feeling like mother hen and worried its not warm enough at 9:30 i showed 57 degrees on my car's gauge. I peeked in the closed coop and they are paired up on the roosting bars. I'm thinking since they've been in there since 7:00pm they should be OK. .
