Yay!!! That's actually a bit bigger than my biggest meaties that I did just last week! I had almost 3.5 lbs. for my biggest bird. But I'll tell ya it was actually kinda fun! Keith does all the killing and Susan gutted them, I was helping with plucking and doing up the feet for later.
I just pulled 46 guinea keets from the incubator yesterday. Mostly pearl because we have a mixed bunch of feral guineas on the farm. You are probably pretty far away though. I have ordered guineas several times. They are more delicate than chicks, so expect to lose some from the rigors of shipping. Keeping all that survive from a box of 30 is not a bad idea.
We are on the list to get them this year, assuming he gets some to hatch. I also found out there is a breeder in Chester Co that has them, but he seems hard to find. An occasional ad on Craigslist, but it doesn't last long and he's not very responsive to emails.

I will get my secure turkey pen set up soon so that this won’t happen again. 
Tomorrow is processing day for the meat chickens. Thankfully, it looks like it will be a nice days for it.
One of my turkeys is out sitting in eggs somewhere in the woods. I have lost two other turkeys this way. The other night she stayed out, but it was raining, so I was not as concerned. She probably won’t show up tomorrow, but I can’t find her nest.
It’s so frustrating, but they are little ninjas when they lay eggs, and we have dense woods, especially now that everything has greened up around here.
