Still have 9 fluff nuggets! Myrtle is tiny still. Are Welbars smaller than Ameraucanas? She's feisty, tho. Don't tell the others, but she's my fav with Fred being a close second.
Still no tailfeathers. And none yet on the silvers. The lavs have lots of tailfeather action going on. All of them have wings like crazy now - even Myrtle. Hers are still smaller tho. Interesting how different they are. Well, the 5 lavs are pretty much identical still.

:( I shut the coop. The birds squeeze so tight, it’s normal to not see the bantams. I checked the ducks. Might have heard a baby. Then I went back to where I’d put the eggs... and found Starla. Her neck broken, a few slashes. Some meat torn out. She was close to a lean-to. I leave it for cover. It looks like an aerial attack, and it’s what makes the most sense.
This is getting depressing.

I'm sorry, predators seem to always find a way... :hugs

I know she was around this morning. Being so tiny, my guess is a young hawk. Maybe it grabbed her, but didn’t have time to take off before the roosters came.
Idk. It just happens when you free range.
