Well, I think I was right about hearing a duckling yesterday. Regardless, it’s dead today.
Not sure what is going on in the duck pen today. Janice has moved her nest a little. I see an egg (which could be a reject from a nest) but I didn’t touch it. I will tomorrow.
The baby was a Hinnie. I thought it would take longer to hatch. It’s not that cool out, so even if it didn’t go back under Aretha, it shouldn’t have been cold enough to die.
I am chalking it up to a birth defect.

My one hen Dotty has been sitting on eggs for 21 days. Yesterday 2 eggs hatched. Waiting to see if the other 2 will hatch. I did not candle the eggs. She had 6 eggs. But she ate 2 eggs. Nothing was developed. Even though she had grain. Does enyone else had that problem? Or does she know what had peeps in and what did not.

This is her first time hatching any eggs. She is year old. She is doing good. So far no more have hatched.

My bumble face girl is almost all better. Just tried to pull any debris out a couple of times and put triple antibiotic on it.
