My buff orpintonton just started showing at 3 weeks I’ll post a pic of him and his mate so u can see the difference. I think when you can tell depends on the breed as well. If you browse the chicken breed section in articles and check out each breed you have it may give you some ideas! I’m new to chickens this year so I’m not of help. I purchased 4 reds and 2ncornish cross (meaties) first go around then 2ndays later grabbed the 2 b.orpingtons hoping for a roo so she did her best to sex for me (she did good lol) then we went back and picked up 4 barred rock straight run and 4 barmevelders(which hubby picked and didn’t know what they were till we went back later that week. The b.rick and barenevelders are straight run so chances are I’ll get Roos however they r dual purpose so we all understand my b.o is only roo for me so all others will become dinner.//ROOSTERS//
When will I know I have a rooster?
One week old? Two weeks?
Is there an exchange forum available on this site to help rehome roosters?
If I wind up with roosters, would any of you local sweeties like them? Happy to drive them to you!
