Still trying to figure out new run design. I have an idea but it would require about 6 strong men to move the current run about 20 feet to the left. I'd like to just pick it up and move the whole thing.

@LittleMissPurdy my yard is a giant puddle. The chickens weren't too happy but the ducks/geese thoroughly enjoyed themselves. So what kind of camera did you get?

I only have puddles in the drive where people keep peeling out. I keep buying more gravel, and they spin it into the wooded area, the highway and my grass.

I just wanted to collect eggs. I will admit that I was a little early, but I didn’t deserve to be hollered at.
Do you guys feel guilty when you disturb your layers? The Muscovy egg was cool in the box, but a Pekin was in the back, and the SLW was under a box (because ducks laying in a box, and chickens laying on the floor is normal, right?). Both were upset. I hightailed it out of there to be followed around by the drake. He’s scary because I never know if he wants to cuddle or bite my calf.

Our girls complain no matter what time it is, but we have birds laying from 0600 to almost dark. Our roosters dont care, they just want to know if we have treats they can give to their girls and take credit for.

I only have chickens. They only care if they're on top of the eggs. I generally pet their back first, then sneak under them to grab the eggs. I try not to while they're on the eggs but if it's too hot or too cold outside, better now than later. If the weather is nice enough for eggs to sit a while, I only gather eggs at night when they're all ready for bed.

Sorry, would love to, but would most likely be the fur-babe that did-me-in.
We do have quite the full house as it is. I hope they find good-loving homes though.

welp, long story, long..
after we brought the "first" camera home and I tried to charge the battery, that wouldn't take a charge, DH took it back to exchange it...they didn't have another one, they were supposed to have two, but whatever....so had to wait till the 14th.
He went all the way back down to Wallie-World and picked up the one & only camera they got in that day.
**It is a Kodak Pixpro FZ152**...did a bunch of looking/research & for our price point it was going to be a crap shoot regardless.
Would LOVE a higher end camera, I take ALOT of pictures, but wallet will not stretch for a camera.
It is working beautifully. It has so many options, lots of bells & whistles for me to get in the groove with. That will take me enough time to work through.
So, so far so good. I am happy with it.
The deal we got on it pretty much sold itself. They didn't have the correct price/information tag posted with this camera, they even scanned the darn thing...they honored the tag posted with it. Got it for almost $30. cheaper than we were supposed to.
Was able to purchase a new/larger SD card & extended warranty with the money we saved. I tend to drop items...alot, so the extra "oops" warranty is a good thing for me.

It really did turn out to be a very beautiful day today, but last night..forget it!

Hoping no rain tomorrow for our own egg hunt here at the house. Baskets we hind inside, no issue there, but having dogs and hard boiled eggs laying in wait is just not a situation that will turn out well.
We colored eggs today. 7 dozen...it was fun though.

No call, no warning. No idea what is happening. Duckling is here. As an infant and toddler, it was a given she would be here. I wasn’t expecting this this year. She will be okay, and I might pull something out of my muck boots, but it’s a shame I did Easter in a hurry last week. I’m not in the mood to boil and decorate eggs, or make last minute treats.

the girls don't complain unless they are broody-crazy, they just holler and sound like a tractor trying to start because they want corn..otherwise known in this backyard as "chicken-crack".
They will get a handful to huddle over when they LAY the eggs and we collect them.
You can get these girls to do anything when you have corn.
They know the sound of the bucket it's in and the sound of the scooper going into it...scary.
What is really unnerving is hearing that sound the movies use to imitate what a "Velociraptor" sounds like...like they know and are still here to tell the story, anyway, Chickadee has made THAT sound at me when cleaning the coop, with my back to her...very spooky. The cooing/gurgling noise...
