Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

How wonderful!! Since we’re in PA...is anyone else in NW PA getting the blizzard? We are over our knees now and it’s not stopping until Monday! :(

Just flurries here for now. Hopefully not more than that since DH just left for Johnstown in his prius...

Whereabouts in NW PA? I'm driving through cranberry township later today!

No snow blizzard here in North East PA. Just very cold and windy.

I have leap day babies

We had several periods of snow flurries yesterday each lasting well over 30 minutes to an hour. More of the same is expected today at points but I don't think it will be as drawn out as yesterday seemed to be. Gonna be 45 or so degrees tomorrow and warming beyond that later in the week.

What a day. Getting my brooder ready for today’s new chicks (3 Marans), I noticed my BC Marans separating herself from the others. This is hanging out of her butt...

Put a thread on the Emergencies forum, so far they seem to think it’s just a membrane, which I gotta get out of her. BEFORE I pick up my chicks. Yikes.

Pella (the Marans above) is fine. Just a membrane. I pulled it out no problem, and before I knew it one of the other girls ate it!:sick Chickens are gross. We love them, but they can be really gross.

My first new feather babies of 2020 are in the brooder!! :love 3 Marans from Kim Renninger, a White, a Black Copper, and a Red Mottled. I think they are all girls, time will tell. Pics tomorrow, promise!:wee

(I just hope that heat lamp is enough for them. The brooder is out in the uninsulated chicken coop, and it is bitterly cold out there.)

Anybody know anybody in Southeast PA selling quail chicks? I got a little “bird” chirping in my ear about it, and it JUST WON’T STOP!:th
