Is anyone else really liking this break in the weather? It isn’t raining, so I still get to sit out with the flock, and drink my coffee. Of course we need a little (LITTLE!) rain for our crops, but at this moment, the weather is perfect!

It's been raining here all morning. Foggy, wet, and dreary. I prefer the hot and sunny days.

Unfortunately cant do much outside right now, had surgery to repair a foot injury Thursday, but it was nice for my doctor visit. Graduated to an official cast. View attachment 2686237

Are you OK? What happened?!

I am OK, I slipped when on my roof to clean chimney, managed to stay on roof by throwing myself backwards but landed on my right elbow and with my foot in a really bad position under me. Stoved up the shoulder which has improved with therapy but the foot didnt improve with walking boot or rest (original xrays said no obvious fractures, so doc called it a mid foot sprain). Doc finally agreed to an MRI I had been asking for and it showed multiple fractures and ligament tears, called a Lisfranc injury. I was then immediately referred to a foot specialist and surgery was scheduled. Had surgery last week, now have a plate and 7 screws fusing the top of my foot together.
So I am OK, but it has been a long 8 weeks, but it now is on the right road to recovery.

8 weeks?! PLEASE tell me you weren't working your usual job/ hours during all that! Prayers for a quick recovery now!

No, I wasnt working, I literally couldn't walk on the left foot, I could bear weight only on the heel of the foot, the front half of the foot was basically worthless.

Wish you a quick recovery! Sending my prayers to you. I hurt my back and couldn't walk for 2 weeks, so I know how you feel even though it's not as bad as you injury.
