Pennsylvania!! Unite!!

As a buyer, I understand both sides of the coin. On the discussion of biosecurity, I was specifically told by one seller that I was not allowed to wear shoes that I'd worn in my coop or chicken areas, I had no problem with this, and used it as an education point for the kids. On the personal/chicken security, I respect a person's choice to not meet at home. Having said that, I really enjoyed getting to see how others keep their birds, and getting the opportunity to talk to them about their birds.

LOL! All of my birds are locked in a barn. It's just the thought of "could someone who has been here before, decide to take the rest of my flock?" The birds are easily accessible, but my neighbors would probably run over in a heartbeat to check it out. The dogs are inside dogs. We have 3, one GSD, one Lab and one Shih Tzu.

LOL!

Darn! If only I was making another trip down there! Glad you're liking them msladyhawke!

Are they still acting friendly?

They are acting a little scared of me at the moment but I feed yummy treats so I am sure they'll come around. The japanese bantam hen in my avatar is being a "b" word to them, but hoping that will settle down soon.
BTW how old are they at this point?

They were 11 weeks old. They will be the meeker of the birds in your pen. They don't really fight. They'd rather be at the bottom of the pecking order and "chill" than be at the top all the time.

When they get used to ya, they'll start greeting you at the door!

msLadyHawk, I'm in Chester County too! Where are you? I'm very far south, near Kennett Square and West Chester. I plan on going to the Green Dragon sale on May 12th, we had a lot of fun at the last one. DH seems to think some turkey poults would be a good idea, where I think a place to put them would be an even better idea.

My mom wants to get some turkeys too. I am not sure about it. The ones I got last year beat the crap out of my chickens (free ranging) I ended up selling them. I liked them, but the chickens are my spoiled little kids, and I didn't want them getting hurt by the big bad turkeys.
