People Who Expressed Interest in my Heelers- Update on Post #786

I LOVE heelers!

Just to let you know you should not dock their tails. They use them like a cheetah does to help keep their balance when they are chasing cows. I know a lot of people do dock them but it is a common myth that they should be and I had never heard of the breed having a bobbed gene. If you were to ever show them they would have to have their tails. They are however really cute. I had a litter of all blues a while back and let me tell you they are a lot of fun. Did you breed to a red father because they look like they are all going to be red heelers. Good luck with them

Eep, I'm glad I'm not near you because I'd be buying a puppy! They're too cute and the mama is gorgeous, even in her exhausted state.

I sure hope not Chellester! 10 seems like plenty, plus that's all the dinner plates she has.

Turnerstar31, I personally like the tails docked because I don't like working dogs in corrals and having the tail slinging manure all over me. Most of the people who buy pups from me prefer the tails docked and that's why I do it that way. Just a local preference. These dogs aren't registered, just bred for working cattle, so showing them isn't a concern. Thanks for the advice though, I have heard that before and it makes sense. The stud is red as well, but the last time they threw 4 reds and 2 blues and judging from the markings on these, I believe at least four or five will be blue. I think one of the stud's parents was blue. Either way, they should be good looking dogs just like the last ones were.

One more encore before I go to bed (by the way, she had the pups in the sun room we are remodeling, so thankfully the carpet is coming out anyway):

That is so interesting about the color. Parents are solid, but puppies are spotted? My English Cockers were spotted and remain spotted, that is not what the breeders call it, but it works for me, LOL. BTW, I need a heeler, my two EC's have to be reminded all the time to heel! Enjoy the puppies, even if there is way too much male hormone going on! grump Rule in my house, 2 female ECs, 12 pullets, 2 human females and a distinct minority - 3 human males, LOL.
