Well, Tess is in heat again. I'm going to call the owner of the stud in the morning and set up a time to drop her off for a bit.

I hate not having her around but it's all part of the game.

We skipped the last heat she went through last fall. I wish I could catch her up just a bit so I don't have puppies in the middle of summer, but it's better than puppies in the middle of winter I guess.
 
I don't like people who breed twice a year every year. Females need those extra six months to recover and be as healthy and back in shape as possible.

I agree with you. It's too hard on my dog to try to carry two litters a year so I give her a break for the fall heat. I usually need her more in the winter with cows anyway so it's a good time for a break. I've never had her bred more than once a year.
