Well it really depends on how you raise the dog. Raise a heeler right and it'll be the best dog you've ever had, raise it wrong and it can turn into a nightmare. We keep our heeler as busy as possible, agility, fly ball, herding, just playing fetch outside. Yes the can be very protective, but when my heeler was a pup I took her to training classes, this helped her interact with different people and dogs, so I highly suggest that, bring her everywhere you can bring a dog and let her socialze. When your duck get a little older have her herd them or bring her to herding classes, or join a stock dog club. There are so many things you can do with her, just remember that she isn't too young to start training, the minute you get her should be when training starts. Good luck and can't wait to see those pictures! We should all make a thread of "who got puppies from Buster!" Actually we're thinking of naming our little guy Buster, what are you name ideas?
