MineCraft is now like 30 dollers now.. i'm getting it for my B-day!

Minecraft costs around 20-30 dollars
It recently came out of beta (testing stage), and there still are updates monthly (usually)
It was a lot cheaper when it was in Beta
Markus Persson (Notch) is not part of making minecraft anymore
It's possible to play minecraft for free, but you can't save

Thanks for this post - it clears some things up for me.

1 - the price difference. I knew the price would increase when it went out of the testing phase
2 - the numbering change. A while back, an update was expected to be 2.9, or some such, and instead, it was 1.0. I thought perhaps this was the "full version" that everyone was waiting for, but my kids didn't know (they don't worry about such things, they just play the game!)

I'm a good parent, and don't go embarrassing my kids more than I can help. I stay on DS's server, and behave myself, rather than scare people by invading other servers!
