This is just one side of the frustration. Sometimes ten minutes or five days doesn't seem to make a difference. I seldom receive more than a couple responses to legitimate questions that I post, yet there are threads about someone's closet being haunted and time travel roleplaying with over a dozen pages of responses. I agree that some people are entirely too impatient, but I think for others it's just disheartening and frustrating to ask a (sometimes urgent) question regarding the chickens in their care and not receive a single response when there are A) thousands of members who posess the knowledge and experience to answer and B) thousands of members who seem to be on BYC almost 24/7, and several members who fit into both of those categories.

Yes, I've seen both sides of the frustration. On one hand it is irritating when someone posts a question and edits two minutes later demanding an answer, but on the other hand it is disheartening posting a question that you would really like answered and waiting and getting no input. That's why I try to go answer unanswered posts when I get a chance, sometimes someone just needs a nudge in the right direction, some reassurance, or even a simple "I'm not sure, but maybe someone else would know/Why don't you try this?/Do this until you can get the right info!"

If i have a REALLY important question i just pester until i get some help... otherwise i just let it go.

Just make sure that if you complain about people not answering posts that YOU are going through ALL the unanswered posts yourself and answering them...
just saying...

I had a thread not too long ago about hatching eggs. I tried to keep it to the point and clear, with a very informative title. Several hours later, after no response, I edited the title to include OMGs and HELP! It had responses within minutes.

Really saddened me that I had to resort to such tactics.

A lot of the cranky "Why didn't you answer my post" posts could be instantly answered by using the Search button. The goofy threads last forever because they are new and unique. The Answer-Me-Now posts are often something that has been posted about approximately eleventy billion times and the experts are tired of answering it again. I think the pros just get tired sometimes.

I've had the same thing happen, Ranchhand. Sad that changing the title to be more "train-wrecky" is what works.
