Just to throw in my 2 cents ...
I'd have to say that my rock bantams are NOT friendly at all compared to my other chicks. Especially the partridge rocks. One actually tried to (attack) bite me the other day, got the skin between my thumb and finger and bit down HARD and twisted without letting go. Not the exploratory pecks or bites they often do if they think something is food. He's probably a roo, don't know if that matters.
I found out that picking them up by the feet and carrying them is something you actually CAN do, LOL. I don't want any mean roos attacking humans.
The silver pencilled are just shy and don't like to be picked up. The rosecombs are a bit better.
The japanese bantam has a great little personality, though he doesn't LIKE to be picked up either. Once you catch him he's calm and cuddly though. However, they are not easy to breed, and probably would lay the smallest eggs of all the ones I've mentioned.
Probably I'm giving you breeds to avoid, but since you didn't mention any of these ... I've almost always heard good things about silkies and cochins though.
Just thought I'd share what limited experience I have so far.
Good luck with your banties! They are so cute.
