Mine is still all wet.
Alrighty, well I have made a decision.
I started watching the movie Food Inc. As soon as they started killing baby chicks, I freaked out and turned it off. I have decided that I want to be a vegetarian now. Not just because of that, but because of how they are just treated period.
I am starting with giving up chicken and pork, and then cow meat.

I'm with her on this one, been vegetarian for almost 2 years and after attempting to watch a meat production video that I won't name, as it's extremely graphic and not for young/faint of heart, I've decided to make a change.
I'm getting rid of dairy! I already don't eat milk or eggs to begin with so that won't be a problem. Going to eat normally and track what I eat for a week, identify where the dairy is and replace each product one by one. Key word being replace, as I know I'll run into nutritional problems if I just start pretending those foods and their nutrients don't exist.

Kudos to PBGGG and MaddiesMum..... fellow vegetarian here. I only eat eggs from my girls and try to limit dairy as much as possible. This is my 2nd experience with being veggie, I had gotten selfish, lazy and indifferent but just couldn't do it anymore. My change of heart also came about from exposure to a film. Further proof that if most people were aware of what was going on more would make the necessary changes to stop it.

I'm still going to eat dairy, but from now on no more store bought eggs. Thank god we have ducks! We get about 4 a day, 5 sometimes. We just went out to the store and stocked up on salad and pasta, haha.
Today I got contacts for the first time, and everything up close is blurry but far away is perfectly fine.

Just make sure you balance your protiens with the other food groups PBGGG. But Kudos! I am back from my adventure to see my grandbaby in Michigan. He is so adorable and I was soooo torn leaving my daughter and him. She was such a tomboy growing up, but has turned out to be such a great mommy. I am so proud of her breast feeding him on demand. He is growing like a weed and she is so patient with him. Love, Love, Love them! While I was gone my newborn Silkie chicks grew so big! They are feathering out now and look so funny. I took them outside on their first outing yesterday with mom and dad. I will have to go on the tablet to post the pics. So very sweet. I am trading them for another breed of layers to a little girl who wants chickens with pajamas. Isn't that sweet? Some ppl sell their silkies for a great deal of money. I just want a good home for them. They have a farm with chickens and I want some Gold Laced Marans that lay chocolate colored eggs. I will be able to keep in contact with them too.

I just got back from vacation.
We successfully snuck Sunni in and back out of the hotel. There were a few close calls where she was almost discovered in the room, but we managed to keep her hidden.
I brought along a portable dog crate, some newspapers, a cardboard box for a nest box, a gallon bag of shavings for the nest box, baby wipes, her spare plastic diaper pouch, her food of course, a baggie full of her favorite treats, and two apples. I also brought her favorite dog bed that she likes to "dust bathe" on.
The apples were to help keep her busy and quiet when I wasn't in the room. It worked!!
Sunni wasn't happy about where she had to lay her egg, because it wasn't what she was used to, so yesterday morning she was making a LOT of noise, telling me how unhappy she was. I spent an hour trying to quiet her down. I am so thankful the hotel doors were very thick and nearly soundproof, or I could've been in a lot of trouble.
Overall, it went pretty good. But man is she happy to be home! I set her in her coop as soon as we got home, and she was so excited. She started chattering and flinging her shavings all over the place, and then she went into her nest box and chattered a whole bunch as if to tell me, "See mom, THIS is a nest box."
I'm really disappointed that I forgot to bring my camera.
My aunt took a few pictures of Sunni while we were there, and she's going to send them to me. So I'll have to share them with you all once I get them.
