If you're crazy, then so am I! I do the same thing lol. I spend more time each day on the chickies than I do the hubby for the last week or so. They love the attention, and I think I'm addicted! Your girls are absolutely adorable :)

Aww thanks. I do think they are adorable and fun too. Im a first time baby ownern well minis my squatter rooster friend who came to live with me. Enjoying every min of it. And I think my hubby enjoys the free time lol

I have two hens, Daisy and Olivia. They're 13 weeks old. I'm a first time chicken owner and would LOVE to bring mine inside but cannot imagine how to do that as they are always pooping and liquid at times too.. at least if it were solid not so bad. What am I doing wrong?? I'm considering the diapers but they TOO seem like they'd be a BIG mess?? Don't they get all that poop (the liquid esp!!) all stuck to their rear end?? I LOVE my girls to death and they let me hold them and pet them, however I can't get them past the "running" from me when I go to pick them up initially also?? Any ideas?? Once I'm holding them on my lap etc etc they're ok.. I just HATE that they still will run from me when I go to pick them up. They're a Barred Rock and an Easter Egger. The Easter Egger being the most rambunctious of the two. Even when I'm holding her.. she'll still wanna jump down and get into everything whereas my Daisy, the Barred Rock is MUCH more still and tame once in my arms or lap.

If you were to feed a wetted mash or fermented feed, the poops would have a lot less watery to them. The only ones that would be wet would be the cecal poops.
They say diapers aren't that bad. Way better than an in fact human, that's for sure!

I've never been able to figure out chicken diapers (though admittedly, I haven't tried looking very hard for a good design). The last time I tried turned out like this:

.... as you can see, not that elegant, or effective! We ended up not worrying about it, because we've got hardwood floors all over the house so a plop here or there is no big deal as long as no one steps in it! Then again, I've never had chickens inside long term, usually just when they're recuperating from sort of wild beast attack. I have a little gaggle of silkies coming in May, though, that I was really hoping would be house-friendly. Hopefully I can figure out a better solution!

Subhana how often do the chickens have "shooters" or cecal poops? Happen to be enjoying the weather outside and all my chickens outside when my Ameracauna shot a pure liquid poop while scratching for bugs. I am not easily grossed out... I am also a nurse, but was on the verge lol I will give my girls some mash they love it.
The older babies were out in their playpen too lol started peeping when they lost sight of me!
