people with house chickens

Redriver my heart goes out to your babies, but it sounds like your "teenagers" are quite funny. You aren't crazy at all. I'm abt to go batty with a roo just outside my bedroom because he is spoiled and wants momma's attention. He would be happy if hecould could sleep and cuddle with me much of the day. His wife will Not permit that!!! He got used to that when he was ill. Now all better and quite loud...

That's very sweet! Do you have any pictures of them?

I love all the little chicken pictures! It's awesome to see some itty bitty chicks on here too!

Pudding! That's awesome! I used to make "chicken" pudding with chick mash and yogurt for my crossbeak, Lady, but I never thought of actually giving her pudding! I bet she would have loved it!

She much prefered people to chickens, I loved the crap outta her! She passed a while back, not sure what from, just woke up one day and she had passed in the night roosting on my night stand =(

Her "Getting a Blow Dry" face

Eating mash and yogurt

Anywho more pictures! Got my little duckies all outfitted with diapers! Will probably be sending a couple outside this week to see if Trina and Pom adopt them (with supervision of course)

We like to make the blanket a big jumbled mess and watch them climb all over it! It's HILARIOUS to watch them hop around! I think they are confused and think they are bunnies

Theresa, good to hear from you again, and Happy New Year! There's just no doubt anymore.. You must be my long lost sister, or something... It's scary how much we have in common! How is Ms. Begawky, anyway?

@kukupecpec You're making me want so many ducks right now... Stop it! :p

Finn is 4 months old. He has lived inside since we found him abandoned under our barn. We had to get him a diaper because I was tired of chasing after him all day with paper towels. He doesn't seem to mind, which is great. Finn is pretty nice, but when Jackie, our dachshund puppy, chases after him, he usually pecks her on the nose. It doesn't stop her from trying it again though!

This is Rooster Cogburn. He has been inside for a few days now. Rooster here is actually our neighbors, but he usually hangs out over here. We noticed he had frostbite on his wattles and legs so we brought in a coop and put him in it. He seems to get along fine with Finn now.

Does Rooster Cogburn crow all the time? My silkie rooster "Russell Crow" is really drivin me nuts in the last 2 days crowing ALL the time. He was sick and now its so cold I am continuing to keep him and his girl in the house in their little crate for heat and safety. I have 3 cats and 3 dogs too. I want to give in and go pick him up, but he is already a monster! Any suggestions friends??

He doesn't crow as much as Finn does. His crow isn't that loud, but Finn sounds like he is just screaming! Rooster Cogburn crows mostly when no one else is in the room and in the morning. Finn just crows all day long. Im not sure exactly what to do because we are pretty new to chickens. At night, I cover Finn's cage with a towel and he stops crowing. If the cage is small enough, I would put a body towel over it. Rooster Cogburn's cage is too big so we just turn out the lights at night.
