Hi there.

You can buy chicken diapers online for your house chicken. But If you don't want to do that, then you just clean up after them or keep them on a towel.

I think most of us use chicken diapers.

Some people also have particular sections of their homes (such as a room) sectioned off for the chicken(s)

But I believe most use the specially designed diapers. They are a life saver and make it so much easier to spend all the time you possibly can with your fluffybutt! It is so unbelievably rewarding, and they quickly become your best friend <3

Hi All,
I am fairly new to BYC but this is my 2nd attempt at raising chickies. I had started out with 3 silkies..a black hen and 2 partridge cockerels. They lived inside at night and when it was bad outside. Unfortunatly something killed them when they were free ranging in the back yard( not in the pen).
I learned my lesson and got five 2 week old silkie chicks on thanksgiving day. I had 2 not make it but the other 3 are doing well and getting big. They don't really have names yet.
They are 10 weeks old now. The dirty white one has gotten blue splashes, the light colored one with darker wings and tail has gotten to be a pretty solid blue and then there is a black one.
They live in my ferrets old 2 story cage( he got moved to a different one) on sand..I think I will get a large box from work to replace the 2 paint tray liners...keep the sand better contained.
I am wanting to get 3 chicken diapers that will grow with them..if anyone knows of anyone who makes something like that lemme know.

When our chickens go on the floor they stay in the sunroom. they only go in other rooms when they are being carried around or sitting on someones lap.

How do you let her roam the house as far as going to the bathroom? Dogs are trained to go outside, cats are litterbox trained, what do you do with her? Just clean up after her?

So cute!!! I would have loved to make a bag just for Trina, but she just got a "section" in my big purse haha
Knitting takes some real skill though! I've never been able to master the 2 needle thing, gotta stick to crochet, although sewing is my craft of choice. What a cutie! I bet she loves all the attention too!


Trina outgrew my bag pretty fast though haha.

OMG that is hilarious!!! Although I would go insane listening to that inside lol. Taco was so sweet and quiet, Toy was loud and obnoxious so he had to go outside. He seems to love you though! What a handsome guy!

Hi everybody! its been quiet here last few day. @Chickie Momma hows marilyn? we're all hoping she gets better over here. @PhantomChikkinz sorry to hear about sebright being a rooster. I'd like to thank everyone for their kind words about Rover. his pride would have hurt if everyone had made fun of him in his dress.lol

So theres been some serious updates here at the Gawley ranch....farm.....zoo...house....whatever you want to call it. My sister just finished sewing her own chicken diaper for Rover. took her all day, but it looks like a pair of overalls very cute. it would have gone faster if she hadn't have broken the sewing machine. when she emails me with the pictures I will post them. If he didn't look funny in the dress, the diaper really pushes it over the edge. I have to applaud her though. it came out really nice, and she based it off of a design she saw on Pinterest.

Even more eggciting, my Aunt has begun an experiment. I'm not sure if anyone on here has read the thread two or three weeks back about the woman who incubated eggs in her bra. here is the link, https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/843704/incubating-in-my-bra-an-experiment Unfortunatly this womans expieriment was a failure but in the thread it references some other success stories. My Aunt has been influenced by this thread to begin her own Body Incubation. using BuckBeak's eggs (and the hoped for chicks will be Rover's babies.) As soon as we candle the eggs on day four and see development She will be starting her own thread on the matter. Her member name is @Beckie G

So needless to say she has removed the NO MORE BABIES ban and we are hoping this idea works for us. I will most definitely keep everyone here updated as well considering the proposed chicks will be joining our house chicken posse. Feel free to ask questions. i will tell you everything i know but to ask her directly I will post the thread as soon as it is started.
