people with house chickens

All these pictures of baby Serama's are making me jealous.....

I keep wishing I could have another house chicken. But I don't think Sunni would be to happy about that. She gets jealous if I even hold the cats around her. Imagine what she would do if there was another chicken!

Likely because Sunni is probably the only chicken in the universe more spoiled than Enzo. Hahaha :p

Finn is so hilarious. The color of his face changes different colors depending on his mood. When he is fighty, it is a fire-engine red, and when he is calm it is as pale as a ghost! His earlobes too change color.

Haha!

The poultry show is coming closer and closer and I'm just getting more worried as it does. I'm worried if we will go, and if we do, about all the tests, preparation, and getting him there. In a week or so I am going to email the manager person who runs the show and ask them.

Hey all, I was wondering... how do you deal with the chicken poop?! I got baby chicks in November, and they are really attached to me, and they tend to follow me around, even into the house, which my parents (I'm 14...) arent very happy about, and they are most concerned about them pooping in the house. Other than putting diapers on them, what do you do to control them from pooping all over?

It is possible to potty train them to poo on some newspapers. There are a few threads on here about it. It didn't work out with Finn because he was too stubborn.

It does take a lot of preparation, from what I understand. I still want to do that someday, but I just don't know where I'd find the time anymore! I barely have the time to keep my two incubator schedules running!

Speaking of... One thing I really didn't expect, was how fast my little babies are selling. As of tomorrow, demand will have surpassed supply! Maybe it's cause they're different?

Wow! He/she is so beautiful!

On the site for the show, it says all the testing I need done. I need to get him sampled for some weird disease. It isn't very clear, but I think I need him blood tested, and the tester comes to the house to see if the bird is living in sanitary conditions. Don't need to worry about that, haha!
