people with house chickens

Wow! He/she is so beautiful!

On the site for the show, it says all the testing I need done. I need to get him sampled for some weird disease. It isn't very clear, but I think I need him blood tested, and the tester comes to the house to see if the bird is living in sanitary conditions. Don't need to worry about that, haha!

Aww thanks :)

Yeah, they have to be tested by an NPIP certified examiner.. At least in Texas. Apparently, you can't enter if you don't have the paperwork.

Ugh. I don't think it costs much though, I thought I heard somewhere around $10? Hopefully!

I'm pretty sure it's incredibly cheap. It has to be, doesn't it? Haha. When you think about it, most chickens cost between $5 and $40, so it just wouldn't make sense if you were paying $100 a head to test your flock!

Haha yeah. I just hope this all works out. Its in May, and we might be moving in June.

Finn is so hilarious. The color of his face changes different colors depending on his mood. When he is fighty, it is a fire-engine red, and when he is calm it is as pale as a ghost! His earlobes too change color.
Sunni is the same way! She also has little sounds she makes according to her mood. She has a happy sound, an "I've gotta lay an egg!" sound, and agitated sound, a content sound, and pretty much a sound for every other emotion you can think of.

My parents always laugh at me because I always know what Sunni wants, and they can't figure out how I do it. I've tried telling them, but to them, all of Sunni's noises sound the same.

My family all likes to tease me and tell me I must be turning into a chicken.

That's so cute! Does she make that soft purring noise when she is happy or sleeping? Finn always does, haha.

Enzo is like that as well! She has such a massive vocabulary, I'm beginning to think she's smarter than most people I see on a day to day basis at work... Especially since she had started mimicking Phantom when he crows in the morning.

Combine that with the growls, squeals of joy, "I've got a treat" noises, "Hey, where are you?" noises, and the countless other little vocalizations that only we can understand, I can totally see why your parents think that way. Haha. One thing is clear though, I always know what she wants. But I think that's because she makes sure to train me properly. :)

That's funny, and very true! Chickens are a lot like cats when it comes to training. They always make sure to train us just right.
