people with house chickens

That sucks! Today in Maine it is supposed to get up to 70, but then on Wednesday its supposed to snow.
Right On...You guys are having the same accursed weather that we are having. Cant tell from one day to the next what the weather will be. And I keep hving baby chicks pop up.Poor things are getting the full Washington Welcome... Trying to get pics of them together but their like fleas hopping around. Then they have three mamas hissing and getting in the way. Super fun though. Im ready to hatch more..

Over the last few days, Sunni has figured out that if I'm not paying enough attention to her, that when she poops, I have to stop everything I'm doing to clean it up. I swear that little naughty chicken is training me...

Every night before I bring Sunni down to our basement "hangout" to play, I have to take out my contact lenses. While I'm washing my hands, she'll poop on the floor in the bathroom, and do her little noise that I swear sounds like she's laughing. If the first poop doesn't work, she'll poop three or four times until I stop and pay attention to her. She has done this four nights in a row now. She also does it when I'm reading a book or I'm on the computer when she's out running around the house.

This is why I would never be able to get away with having another house chicken. I can't show any attention to any animal or thing with Sunni around.

Hi everyone! One of my sweet roosters hasn't been feeling well for one week. His abdomen is hard and puffy and he won't eat. I'm so sad over this. Any tips on what I can do for him?? Please help

Poor guy. It sounds like he might have ascites, but I'm not sure. Try doing a search on this topic on the site and see if the symptoms mentioned fit your rooster's case. You could try starting a thread on the Emergencies and Illness section of the site, too. I have not had a chicken with this problem; I have only read about it, so unfortunately I am not a lot of help. I hope your rooster gets better.
