People with still airs that dont have A/C

Have you got a closet or some other small area of your home that you can put the bator- somewhere that won't be affected by the temp changes as much?
PS-- if you buy the Genesis you'll be in love!

I bought mine from Cutler Supply- thanks to recommendations from folks here. I ordered it on a Friday or Saturday I think.. they called me on Monday to let me know they were out of stock, but were getting a truckload that Friday, and said if it didn't get shipped for any reason on that Friday, they'd call me. Lo and behold- it was shipped when they said, and I got it on Tues or Wed of the following week. SUPER customer service, and pricing that seems the same or better than anywhere else I saw.

I bought it ( the 1588 model is the pre-set/ Genesis) with the automatic egg turner (1611) for chickens, the price was good, shipping was reasonable ( i look at all shipping in comparison to gas money that I'd need to use to obtain the same items now), and as I said, service was superb.
I've got my first 20 eggs set in it now, and have only had to add water twice in a week, and the temp has not strayed the entire time. My first hatch was with a little giant still air, and the comparison is incredible. I like the hovabator design- bigger window, the cover sets into the bottom instead of just on top- seal is tight. It's a well thought out design and I'm very impressed!
Hatch results still pending, but ease of use gets an A+ from me.

I've also gotten my two 1588s and 1590 (older version of the 1588) from cutlers. They're very nice to deal with. I know others have ordered directly from GQF.

Dont be sure of that! I had a spike of 105 and 90% of one breed, 85% of another and only 25% of the third are alive and well! My spike was on day 1 tho so dont know if that made the difference.

I made a decision.

Once this hatch is done, I'm gettin a Genesis!

One of my LG still airs is going to be returned as defective. I had to take the 2 OE eggs out of it and put them with the other group (hope everything works out ok) because of the variances in temp and humidity. I finally realized that one of the edges of the top was not even, so the room temps/humidity were causing problems.

The other one, I'll put on ebay or something.

I just can't deal with the worries....need the best/easiest incubator I can have.

amyquilt...If I'm reading your post right you only had 2 eggs in the bator? If that's true, it's much harder to keep the temps steady with only a few eggs in it. If you are only going to put very few eggs in, it helps keep the temps steadier if you add a couple of heat sinks.

There is a ceiling fan in the room where the bators are, but because of the peaked ceiling, there is no air movement from it (darn rent house

) So I went yesterday and bought a fan to put in the room...to help cool us (lol) and keep the air in the room circulating more.

It's been 24 hours and the full bator has completely stabilized.
